Orthopedic Conditions
Whether you’re recovering from surgery or an injury, or you’re living with a chronic orthopedic condition such osteoporosis, El Camino Health's rehabilitation specialists can provide a full range of rehabilitation services to help you resume the activities you enjoy.
We offer intensive rehabilitation for recovery from orthopedic surgery or from hip fractures, amputations and other complex issues at our Acute Rehabilitation Center. Rehabilitation experts provide personalized, one-on-one therapy, education and support to help you regain mobility and independence.
El Camino Health also offers a wide range of outpatient therapy services to manage chronic conditions such as arthritis, osteoporosis and back pain, as well as therapy to overcome sports injuries or other orthopedic problems. Our therapists offer manual therapy, encouragement and personalized training to help you regain movement.
Personalized Orthopedic Rehabilitation
Our therapists have rehabilitation expertise in a variety of orthopedic conditions and are experienced in developing customized care programs to meet each person’s unique needs. To develop your program, therapists draw from a variety of physical therapy and occupational therapy techniques, including:
- Customized exercise. Therapists develop exercise plans to improve strength, flexibility and endurance using a variety of techniques and some of the latest exercise equipment. Our Los Gatos campus offers the state-of-the-art AlterG® Anti-Gravity Treadmill®, aquatic therapy and Pilates training — all providing safe, low-impact exercise that’s ideally suited to people with limited mobility.
- Condition-specific recovery programs. We offer spine care, joint replacement and sports injury rehabilitation programs, staffed by rehabilitation professionals who are experienced in the unique recovery needs for each condition.
- Manual therapies. Our therapists are experienced at improving range of motion, strength and function, as well as therapies for pain management, muscle spasms and swelling. They use therapies such as myofascial release and joint mobilization to promote healing.
You’ll also receive valuable training and information to help you continue to improve after therapy concludes — whether it’s a customized exercise program, safety tips or information to help you prevent further injuries.
In addition, El Camino Health offers a variety of classes — such as an osteoporosis education and exercise class and a balance class for older adults — to further support you and prevent injuries.
