The March of Dimes' March for Babies in Silicon Valley was held on May 11 at CEFCU Stadium, raising funds for research, programs, support and advocacy so all families get the healthy start they deserve. El Camino Health was a Silver sponsor of the event, which raised more than $150,000. Aside from its role as a sponsor, El Camino Health’s newborn intensive care unit (NICU) clinical team, hospital board member Carol Somersille, MD, and a NICU family all participated in the event.
The March for Babies helps raise awareness and funds to make pregnancy and childbirth safer for all women and babies. The United States is among the most dangerous developed countries for childbirth, and the March of Dimes is working with healthcare providers and families across the nation to change that reality through research, improved prenatal care, better education and better access to needed resources.
