Congresswoman Anna Eshoo Honored for Support of El Camino Heath Milestones

Congresswoman Anna Eshoo Honored for Public Service

Congresswoman Anna Eshoo is retiring at the end of her term, and El Camino Health thanked her for her long and distinguished career with a reception at our Mountain View hospital.

Congresswoman Anna Eshoo – a dedicated leader on healthcare policy and improving healthcare – was paid tribute to in a reception on August 28.

Eshoo’s district includes El Camino Health’s Mountain View and Los Gatos hospitals. An advocate for improving healthcare quality and access, she has helped El Camino Health mark major milestones by speaking at numerous ribbon cuttings, receptions and other events over more than three decades.

First elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1992, since 2019 she has served as the senior Democratic Member of the House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee — the first woman to serve in this position. She helped draft portions of the Affordable Care Act, including eliminating lifetime limits in health insurance plans. She has written bipartisan legislation to promote the development of new lifesaving cures in biologic drugs, protect patients’ genetic information from being used to discriminate against them, modernize how the Food and Drug Administration regulates and approves medical devices, and promote the development of drugs specifically for children.

More than 100 people gathered in the courtyard to honor Eshoo’s commitment and contributions to El Camino Health and our mission. All of us at El Camino Health thank Congresswoman Eshoo for her fearless advocacy to ensure that all Americans have access to high-quality healthcare services.
