El Camino Health’s annual tree lighting took place on December 6 at our Los Gatos campus, with a school choir, Santa and Mrs. Claus, employees and neighbors in attendance.
The annual tree lighting at El Camino Health’s Los Gatos campus is a longstanding tradition, and this year the hospital’s neighbors were invited to attend.
For nearly half a century, the event has been held for employees and their families, but this year El Camino Health sent out a mailer to invite neighboring residents. This year’s celebration was held on December 6 and featured a school choir, a crafts table and free refreshments, as well as a reading of The Night Before Christmas, before the countdown to the tree lighting.
Also on hand, of course, were Santa and Mrs. Claus, as well as El Camino Health leadership.
"This is the first year that we extended it to the surrounding neighbors, and it was absolutely fantastic," says Bido Baines, vice president of operations. "Then the next day, El Camino Health participated in the Los Gatos Children’s Christmas/Holiday Parade, and we had a float representing El Camino Health. So, it was a fun family weekend."
