Healthier Minds, Spirits and Communities: Partners and Programs Support Mental and Community Health

Mental Health Month (May) and Community Health Improvement Week (June 12-18, 2023)

One thing surviving a pandemic has taught us: Living in community with each other is vital to our mental health and quality of life.

That's one reason El Camino Health and its Community Benefit Program support so many services and resources to improve our community's health and the health of all who live, work, play and grow here. Healthy communities are key to quality of life, as we pass through all the stages of life in close relationship with others.

In April, El Camino Health took part in a long-time community tradition — the 45th annual Great Race, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Los Gatos. The race brings community members out to get exercise and support scholarships for local students. May was Mental Health Awareness Month, and El Camino Health teamed up with the Mountain View Public Safety Foundation, sponsoring their workshop, A Leap Not Taken, to help first responders recognize and help those who may be at risk of suicide. Both of this issue’s featured grant partners provide services that support the physical and mental health of our community and its members.
