September 19, 2019 – El Camino Health today announced philanthropic industry leader Andrew Cope as the new president of El Camino Health Foundation, effective September 23, 2019. Cope has more than 25 years of experience working in fundraising and charitable giving, specializing in healthcare and nonprofits. Most recently, Cope served as director of major gifts at the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children’s Health personally raising more than $35 million in contributions over five years with a focus on supporting the organization’s teen mental health efforts.
“Andrew has a passion for community health as evidenced by his years of fundraising focus, making him an excellent choice as our next El Camino Health Foundation president,” said Dan Woods, Chief Executive Officer of El Camino Health. “His extensive expertise in the Bay Area, knowledge of our communities, and demonstrated success align perfectly with our commitment to our patients and community.”
In addition to serving at Lucile Packard Foundation, Cope’s experience includes leadership roles at Silicon Valley Community Foundation, Children’s Health Council and Stanford University Graduate School of Business. Under Cope’s direction as vice president of development at Silicon Valley Community Foundation in 2013 alone the department raised more than $300 million in new contributions.
“I am honored to join the El Camino Health Foundation team,” said Cope. “There are exciting opportunities on the horizon for El Camino Health, including it’s soon to open Taube Pavilion focused on expanded mental health services and treatment advances. I am eager to help lead the Foundation as it supports innovations that empower and support patient care at El Camino Health.”
