El Camino Hospital and Stanford Medicine Children’s Health announced today a new employee shuttle in Mountain View that will transport employees of both organizations from the Mountain View Transit Station in downtown Mountain View to the El Camino Hospital campus and the new Stanford Children’s Health facility in Sunnyvale.
The new shuttle service will operate Mondays through Friday, except holidays, during the morning and evening commute hours. It will serve the Mountain View Transit Station, which is a hub for Caltrain and VTA Light Rail. Each shuttle is wheelchair accessible, has bike racks and free Wi-Fi.
As part of a long-term effort, El Camino Hospital has committed to reducing the demand for parking on our campus by reducing the number of single-occupancy vehicles driving to and parking on campus. In addition to the Mountain View shuttle, El Camino Hospital is launching two additional shuttle routes — one from an off-site parking lot at the Parkinson’s Institute and Clinical Center in Mountain View, and another one in Los Gatos from the Winchester Light Rail Station.
El Camino Hospital is also implementing an employee carpool program to encourage shared rides to work, as well as a tax incentive program to encourage the use of public transportation.
