El Camino Hospital District Renamed El Camino Healthcare District

Mountain View, CA - June 5, 2013 - The El Camino Hospital District today announced its new name - the El Camino Healthcare District. The District also unveiled a new brand identity, including a new logo and web site: www.elcaminohealthcaredistrict.org/.

The name change acknowledges a greater focus on community health and wellness. The renaming also represents the District’s dedicated efforts to improve transparency and demonstrate the separate functions of the District and El Camino Hospital.

"As we strategically shift our approach to meeting the community's health needs and place a greater focus on wellness, renaming the District better encapsulates the breadth and depth of health services and education that will keep our community well," said John Zoglin, chairman of the El Camino Healthcare District Board of Directors. "Renaming the District also provides additional clarity around the separate and distinct roles of the District and the Hospital."

The resolution passed unanimously during the recent District Board meeting and was verified shortly thereafter by the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors.
