January 30, 2019 – El Camino Hospital Foundation today announced it has received a $5 million donation from John and Susan Sobrato. The donation is one of the largest single commitments ever made to the El Camino Hospital Foundation and will secure naming rights for the hospital’s new integrated medical office building, to be called the Sobrato Pavilion. The seven-story, 265,000-square-foot integrated medical office building is currently under construction and expected to open in the fall of 2019.
“We are extremely grateful to John and Susan for their transformational gift in support of El Camino Hospital and their many endeavors to further enhance the health of our community,” said Jodi Barnard, President of El Camino Hospital Foundation. “As the building is completed, it will be a great honor to formally name the new structure after this respected and well-known family.”
For more than 50 years, John and Susan Sobrato have shared their real estate and development business success with Silicon Valley. The Sobratos’ philanthropic work is focused on working to build a Silicon Valley where everyone has access to food, shelter, healthcare and opportunities to succeed.
“We recognize the significant contributions El Camino Hospital and its caring staff, doctors and volunteers have on the health of our community,” said John Sobrato. “We believe that by supporting El Camino’s continued development as a state-of-the-art medical center that services all residents of Silicon Valley, we are helping to build a healthier community for the long term.”
