Mountain View, CA - June 26, 2009 - After finishing the last series of safety checks and system tests, and working nearly around the clock for the past several weeks, El Camino Hospital has announced its Los Gatos campus will open just three months after taking over the facility after it closed on April 11. The hospital’s emergency department will begin accepting walk-in patients at noon on July 12 and ambulance traffic on July 19. A few cases are scheduled in the operating rooms during the first week the hospital is open; the full schedule will begin July 19.
"I have nothing but the highest praise for our activation teams who have been working tirelessly and were instrumental in helping us meet our goal for opening in three very short months," says Eric Pifer, M.D., chief medical officer, El Camino Hospital and president of El Camino Hospital Los Gatos.
A media preview is scheduled for 11 a.m. on July 2.
