Every year El Camino Health delivers more than 4,000 babies between our two hospitals in Los Gatos and Mountain View, California, and we welcome every new life into our community with outstanding care for both mother and baby.
Our team works tirelessly to make each experience its best and we are proud to see our maternity services applauded on a national level.
The NICU Family Centered Care team at El Camino Health's Mountain View hospital was also recently recognized for providing outstanding care. The team won the 2021 David Wirtschafter Award from Stanford's California Perinatal Quality Care Collaborative (CPQCC). The organization selected our NICU Family Centered Care team for its standout offerings, like its parent buddy program, discharge teaching tools and parent comfort team — all of which help integrate families as NICU partners.
As the health needs of the world around us continue to evolve, so do we. Committed to delivering care in a comfortable and accessible setting, El Camino Health will complete a $149-million-dollar renovation for its women's health and maternity center. The project, planned for our Mountain View campus, will improve facilities, expand capacity and space for patients and create an even more welcoming environment. The center will offer designated sleeping areas for family members, antepartum rooms for mothers in need of special care before giving birth, a brand-new café for food and refreshments and much more. Work will begin this spring and anticipate completing renovations in 2024.
For anyone planning to welcome their newest family member at an El Camino Health hospital, we continue to offer an array of special services to ensure a superior experience — from our lactation specialists to our lifestyle medicine offerings.
