Healthy Gifts for Everyone on Your List

Does it seem that selecting the right gift for everyone on your list is more challenging every year? Why not pick a theme of healthy gifts this year? Check out these fun options and you’re sure to find something for everyone of all ages.

Water bottles. Yes, just about everybody has a reusable water bottle (or three!) by now. But some of the latest designs, including collapsible designs like the que Bottle, make staying hydrated on the go easier than ever.

Wellness classes. Meditation, yoga and tai chi are just a few examples of health and wellness practices that people of all ages can enjoy. Check with your local recreation department, health clubs and senior centers to find available classes. Most also offer gift cards. Resistance bands. Building and maintaining strength and flexibility is important at any age — and lightweight resistance bands are a perfect gift for someone who travels a lot or is always on the go. The bands are easy to tuck into a suitcase or even a handbag, so getting a few minutes of stretching and strengthening is quick and easy.

Herb gardens. Anyone with a green thumb or a love of cooking will appreciate a potted herb plant or a kit to grow a variety of herbs right in their kitchen. And studies have shown that experimenting with herbs and spices is a great way to encourage healthier eating.

Personal blender. Smoothies are the ideal grab-and-go breakfast for busy people of all ages. And a powerful personal blender — one that doesn’t take up a lot of room or require extensive cleaning — makes healthy smoothies a breeze to make. It’s the perfect gift for students, busy executives, book club friends and families on the go.

Kitchen gadgets. Fun kitchen tools that make it easier to create delicious and healthy dishes are great gifts that encourage healthier eating. Consider a spiralizer to turn zucchini into a delicious substitute for noodles, a salad chopper that makes vibrant and colorful, antioxidant-packed salads a breeze to throw together, or a pressure cooker that makes creating healthy one-pot meals easy and fun.

Fruit basket. Giving fruit at the holidays isn’t exactly new or unique, but there’s a reason it’s always so popular: everybody loves fresh, seasonal fruit that is perfectly ripe and delicious! Focus on quality over quantity, such as a box of six gorgeous pears or sweet, red grapefruit to ensure your gift if enjoyed at peak freshness.
