When the holidays are over and winter is still in full-swing, it can be easy to feel a little down—not to mention low-energy. Colder temperatures and darker evenings may make it harder to get out and complete your normal tasks, but it’s important to still find ways to stay active and enjoy the winter months.
Try these tips to enjoy the season without the winter blues:
1-Minute Tip: Get some sunlight in the morning. Expose yourself to sunlight right when you get up to boost your energy and start the day on a healthy note.
5-Minute Tip: Listen to cheery music. It may not seem like it would make a difference, but listening to upbeat music throughout your day can help increase your mood.
15-Minute Tip: Spend time with loved ones. You may feel more inclined to stay indoors during the dark winter months, but spending time with friends and family can greatly help your mood. Even a quick phone call to a loved one can brighten your day.
30-Minute Tip: Talk to a doctor. While the winter blues are fairly common, consider talking to a doctor if your symptoms are more severe. Fatigue, loss of interest in activities you normally enjoy, and isolating yourself from friends and family could all be symptoms of depression.
