June 2021 Health Tips

Find small ways to make your summer happy and healthy!

1-Minute Tip: Whether you're on a hike, setting up a campsite, or just enjoying a barbeque outside, mosquitoes and other pests are likely to want in on the action. Make sure you use insect repellent to protect yourself and your family from harmful bug bites and rashes. When entertaining, light a citronella candle to keep mosquitoes away.

5-Minute Tip: As you try to stay hydrated this summer, don’t forget to sanitize and clean your water bottle, pool floaties and other water accessories. Wash your water bottle daily in hot water and soap and let it dry completely. For pool floaties and other accessories, spray with an anti-bacterial cleaner and wipe down thoroughly before and after use.

15-Minute Tip: Experiencing stress? Take 15 minutes to relax and enhance your meditation with lavender essential oil, either through a diffuser or by applying topically. Other oils to experiment with, depending on your mood and needs, include peppermint, eucalyptus, sage, lemon and more.

30-Minute Tip: Summer months mean summer plans. Spend 30 minutes making a list of possible summer excursions — whether that be hiking, camping or exploring different parts of the area. Keep an ongoing note on your phone or keep a physical list nearby to keep track.
